Ok first you need to buy 2 medium sized chickens and make sure you get all of the feathers out but don’t take off the skin. Then you need to get 2 parsnips and some carrots and peel them and cut them in thirds. You also need parsley and dil and you have to cut the bottoms off of those. Then with the onion you peel it and cut like in fours about half way but not totally through the onion you also do this with the parsnip. Fill a big pot with water not totally though or it wont taste good. Put the chicken in first and wash the vegetables in the meantime. Yellowish white stuff will come up make sure you have a hot bowl of water and carefully take this stuff out without the water in the pot. Make sure you get all of it out then add the vegetables and season accordingly. Cook about 1- 1 and a half hours or until chicken is done. About 3 hour process.

    2 eggs, beaten
    3 tbsp. milk
    1 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
Dash of salt is how to make noodles
Combine. Roll out real thin and cut into strips. Then lay on towel to dry. Let dry approximately 1 hour. Bring water to boil, boil until tender.
Bake 1 whole chicken, saving the juices. After done, let chicken cool and remove meat from chicken, cutting into bite-size pieces. Add desired amount of water to remaining chicken broth. Add noodles, chicken, celery and carrots. If desired, you may make dumplings and add to soup.

    Chicken Noodle Soup
    Recipe courtesy Food Network Kitchens
    Show: How To Boil Water
    Episode: Soup for the Soul
    1/2 medium onion, thinly sliced
    1 small carrot, thinly sliced
    2 stalks celery, thinly sliced
    2 sprigs fresh thyme
    2 sprigs flat-leaf parsley
6 cups chicken broth, homemade or low-sodium canned
    1/2 cup water
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
1/3 pound egg noodles (preferably wide ones)
1 1/4 cups shredded cooked chicken (meat from about 1 breast)
1 tablespoon whole flat-leaf parsley leaves, and/or 1 tablespoon fresh dill fronds, for garnish

Put the onion, carrots, celery, thyme, parsley, chicken broth, and water in a medium pot. Season with salt and pepper, to taste, and bring to a simmer over medium high heat. Simmer until the vegetables are almost tender, about 5 minutes.

Add the noodles and cook until tender, 5 to 8 minutes (depending upon the size of the noodles). Add the chicken, warm through, and then adjust the seasoning, if necessary, with salt and pepper. Serve garnished with parsley and dill.

  • Hank:

I think ready made Chicken Noodle Soup is just as good as home made and easier

  • mymxboys:

    Simple is best.
I don’t know how much soup you are wanting to make I make enough to last 4 of us a couple of days.

Chicken stock: (Can be used with Chicken and Dumpling, or any recipe of this type)
4 chicken breasts bone in skin on.
    2 stalk celery halved
    1 onion quartered
    1 T celery seed
    1 tsp sage
    salt and pepper

Place above ingredients into a large stock pot with about 2 quarts of water. Boil for approximately 45 minutes.
Remove chicken and vegetables. Throw vegetable away,(just used for flavoring stock) Skin and de~bone chicken set aside in refrigerator.
You can buy egg noodles at the store and would be a lot easier than making them your self.
Cut up new vegetables and place in boiling broth eg:
2 stalks celery into small pieces
    1 onion into small chunks
    1 small can of peas
    1 can of green beans
1 small bag of baby carrots
Place bag of noodles in boiling water and cook to package directions.
This makes a very nice and hearty soup. Add more salt and pepper to taste. Cayenne Pepper gives it a little kick and changes the taste a little but if you like it it’s good too.
If you would like the Home made noodle recipe I have one, you can email me and I’ll send it to you.
